"Starburst Crochet Grannie Square" was inspired by the idea that in the sky there are stars that burst and their rays spread out in the heavens. I thought it would be nice to have a square designed that resembled the rays of a star. The pattern, although pretty tricky to design, is pretty simple. The star burst might be a little difficult at first but will flow once you get the hand of it's special stitch. I used worsted weight yarn and a 5mm crochet hook to achieve an 8" square. The pattern is in PDF format and downloadable upon purchase. If you should have any problems with the pattern, please contact me and I will do what I can to help you with any issues. I would love to see your complete square. Making this square into an afghan is on my 'to do' list. I am thinking, solid blue squares with intermittent starburst squares might make an afghan look like the sky with stars glittering here and that. Maybe using white yarn with silver strands might be a nice effect. The difficulty level for this square is probably advanced beginner. At any rate, I hope you enjoy this pattern. Happy crocheting!
